Currency option expires Jan 17 at 10:00 am New York discount

There are several major futures for AUD/USD, but they are not seen anywhere near current spot levels. So today’s expiry date doesn’t really matter, so trading sentiment will continue to be mostly dictated by the risk mood, especially as we’ll be back on Wall Street after the long weekend.

All this before the focus shifts to the bond market and the Japanese yen, with the BOJ policy decision announced tomorrow.
